Iran short film to go on Italy screen

Iranian short film ‘Compasses’ has been set to be offered for sale at the European film market of the 8th Social World Film Festival in Italy.

Directed and written by Meysam Abbasi, the short flick depicts the story of an old man, whose only companion, his old wife, is into bird-watching every morning near their house. However, after a while, the old man faces a problem and has to lock himself up at home.

The cast list includes Hossein Qaderi and Fatemeh Mortazi.

A page on the festival’s website reads, "The Social World Film Festival is the International Exhibition of Social Cinema: a festival that wants to combine the passion for the cinema of young people with important social themes, all in the splendid setting of the Sorrento Coast. The number seven, saw the participation of thousands of spectators in 30 different events."

The Iranian short movie is just one step away from being exposed to the European audience.

The 8th edition of the event has been slated for July 29 to August 5, 2018, in Vico Equense, Italy.
